Issue 09

I recently spent a long weekend at the Laurel Springs Retreat Center in Santa Barbara, California. It was a yoga retreat, so I spent 6-8 hours a day working up an appetite in classes. In between, I nommed on the amazing food and then sat in a blissful daze on the gorgeous grounds. If heaven were in Southern California, I am pretty sure it would be this 160 acre site in the mountains high above the clouds.

They cultivate their own organic produce, create homemade preserves, and even make yogurt and cheese from their own goats. Laurel Springs offers retreats year-round focused on many activities, or can be rented out for private groups.

Visit them on the web at: http://www.laurelspringsretreat.net.
